Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in Computer Science, or a related field.
• 2+ years professional experience as a software engineer
• Production code experience in some or all of the following languages: Julia, Python, Java, JavaScript.
• Strong awareness about proper design principles and ability to iterate based on user feedback.
• Experience developing and supporting high-quality production code for data-heavy cloud platforms or APIs.
• Ability to collaborate with other data scientists and engineers.
• Rapidly prototype & ship product to accelerate development cycles.
• Exceptional problem solving skills, evidenced by prior work and/or research.
• An energetic, team-oriented professional who is passionate about innovation and data science.

Preferred Qualifications

• Thrives in backend engineering positions and can deliver user experience at scale.
• Experience designing and implementing software for transportation and/or supply chain systems (e.g., routing, scheduling).
• Familiarity with optimization methods, related tools, and the latest technology (e.g. CPLEX, Gurobi).
• Passion for work that benefits the public good.

Job Description

As a Backend Software Engineer, you will play an important part in the company’s growth and development. You will leverage your problem-solving mindset and computer science knowledge to develop novel solutions for our platforms and integrations. You will translate insights from product and sales teams into feature sets and design elements, support quality production code, and deliver on enterprise-level user experience. Working collaboratively with our first-rate data science team, you will develop new algorithms and methodologies which will achieve broad applicability across and within the industries we serve, with emphasis on transportation and supply chain systems. A backend software engineer will bring energy, positivity, and determination to an already exciting work environment.
